New York is perhaps the city most synonymous with skyscrapers in the public imagination, and the most architecturally significant addition to the New York skyline in recent years is at 53 West 53rd.
CoxGomyl were pleased to recently be awarded with the facade access project designed by award winning architect Jean Nouvel. The building is represented by multiple angular facades which rise 320 meters above the city skyline and with views across Central Park.
Two Building Maintenance Units (BMUs) were supplied and installed onto Level 76 and 77 and were parked and concealed out of site behind closed doors when not in use. Both facade access systems provided complete facade access to the building facade which is made entirely of glass from ground to roof. The reach of the BMUs extends how to an impressive 35 meters.
The second facade access system located at level 77 provides facade access to the peak of the building and reach down to where the first machine reaches.
