6&8 Parramatta Square are a brand-new pair of skyscrapers currently topped out in Sydney, Australia. Rising to 243 metres, the development will offer the largest commercial A Grade office space in the country by Nett Lettable Area. Additionally, features such as bicycle parking and a repair station, showers and change facilities ensure that the building will be suitable for the modern worker.
CoxGomyl were chosen to provide a facade access system for the Johnson Pilton Walker architecturally designed towers. With prominent features including a tall ‘tiara’ design and recessed facades around the building, CoxGomyl’s team of design engineers were required to deliver a system that enabled full coverage while accommodating these challenges.
As a result, CoxGomyl delivered a system encompassing a pair of building maintenance units. Supplied alongside added components including a lifting table, Materials Handling Unit (MHU) and extensive height safety equipment. The predominant challenge throughout the delivery process was the lengthy design coordination required that saw multiple variations and additional orders for complete customer satisfaction.
The team of project managers and engineers were deeply involved with the process from start to finish, ensuring that each and every requirement was addressed as the facade of the building was updated slightly throughout the construction process. The building will now offer extensive pristine views of Sydney’s CBD and the distant Blue Mountains for years to come.
